Fieke BazelmansParticipantHi everyone,
I am trying to achieve custom time tracking. I have 4 forms: Customers, Projects, Tasks and Hours. I want to be able to:
* add new tasks to any given project from any of those forms
* select the project I want to add the task to
* autofill/autoselect the customer to whom the selected project belongs
* display and update task list on any of those forms
* add hours to any given task from any of those forms
* select the task I want to add the hours to
* autofill/autoselect the project to which the selected task belongs
* autofill/autoselect the customer to whom that project belongs
* update hours for selected task on any of those forms
* Display the total amount of hours spent (and money earned) on a given PROJECT so that I can transfer that to the invoice.
* Transfer the the total amount of hours spent (and money earned) on a given PROJECT to an invoice for the customer. Preferably so, that I can choose to transfer all the tasks as well, or just the total amount of money the customer owes me.I attached a mindmap image to visually show you what I am trying to achieve here. I want to create something that can act as a time tracking thing.
What do I have so far:
I have a customer and a project that belongs to him (just 1 so far), and a set of tasks for that project, some of which have hours and some haven’t.
Customer Form has a field linked (one-to-many) to the Project
Form Customer Form has a field linked (one-to-many) to the Tasks Form
Customer Form has a field linked (one-to-many) to the Hours Form
Project Form has a field linked (one-to-many) to the Customer FormProject Form has a field linked (one-to-many) to the Tasks Form
Project Form has a field linked (one-to-many) to the Hours Form Tasks Form has a field linked (one-to-many) to the Customer FormTasks Form has a field linked (one-to-many) to the Project Form
Tasks Form has a field linked (one-to-many) to the Hours Form Hours Form has a field linked (one-to-many) and to the Customer FormHours Form has a field linked (one-to-many) to the Project Form
Hours Form has a field linked (one-to-many) to the Tasks FormI have been busy for days now and I cannot get it to work, I have tried a multitude of things hoping it would play nice, but it won’t. Some of it works, some of it does not. All together it doesn’t do what I want.
My Questions:
* Is this is as complicated as I think it is, or am I just missing the whole point?
* Can anyone here help me achieve what I want? Thanks for your attention & time,
Fieke

Fieke BazelmansParticipantThis is a picture of the idea, just without all the links to the forms, that would get messy
