Michael WelzParticipantHi,
I am new here and trialing this database for some private and business cases.
I have created a project based timesheet, my time to enter is a number field.
I have cases that I am only 1 1/2 on a job, when entering 1.5 in my number field, then the result is “2”.
Can i switch off the rounding somewhere?
Thanks
Michael

Michael WelzParticipantI found the problem, I didn’t set up the “decimal places” under the field options.

BrendanKeymasterHi Michael,
I’m glad you found the Decimal Places option.
Thanks,

JScottAParticipantFor future reference, here is the Tap Forms 5 Assistant response (an unofficial Tap Forms custom GPT assistant):
It seems that the user is experiencing automatic rounding in their number field when entering decimal values like “1.5” and the field is rounding it up to “2.” This behavior can occur when the field properties are set to display whole numbers only.
To fix this, the user can adjust the settings of the number field to prevent rounding by ensuring the field is configured to allow decimals.
Here’s how the user can switch off the rounding in Tap Forms:
1. **Open the Form**: Navigate to the form that contains the timesheet and the number field in question.
2. **Go to the Fields tab**: Click on the “Fields” tab in the Form sidebar.
3. **Select the Number Field**: Choose the number field where you are entering the time (e.g., 1.5).
4. **Adjust the Decimal Places**:
– Scroll down to the field properties.
– Look for the setting labeled **”Decimal Places”**.
– Increase the number of decimal places (e.g., set it to 1 or 2 depending on how many decimal points you need).
5. **Save Changes**: After setting the desired number of decimal places, save the changes. This should prevent rounding and display the exact decimal value entered.
For more details, you can refer to the **Field Types** section on page 18 of the Tap Forms documentation, which explains how number fields can be formatted to display decimals instead of whole numbers [oai_citation:1,1328_16794_en_1538683502.pdf](file-service://file-15C3MsaZPdU2JvfF2hiej31w).
