I imported a CSV file from a FileMaker Pro database into Tap Forms, and that worked out OK after some data wrangling. A bunch of my fields are Boolean (Yes/No) so I decided to convert them to Checkmarks. I did an Advanced Search and Replace for the “Read?” field by replacing “Yes” with “1” and “No” with “0.” Then I converted the field type from Text to Checkmark. That seemed to work fine. I could see which of my books I had read vs. not read.
However, I keep losing the value for that field while doing stuff that seems totally unrelated. For example, I created a new Text Calculation field and noticed a while later that all the Checkmarks had been stripped out. So none of the records showed a Checkmark in the “Read?” field, even though I know it was checkmarked before.
What am I not understanding about this field type?
Hi Marisa,
Hmm… that’s odd. I’ve not seen that happen before.
But Tap Forms will convert the Yes into a 1 for you during the import process. On the Import Records screen, just choose Checkmark instead of Text when importing.
Perhaps that’ll work better for you.
