Hi
I’m trying to export a PDF of a layout from 2018, and the layouts are there when i open the database, but after a few seconds, it synchronises with iCould and deletes the layout i want!
I had a backup, so tried again and it wasn’t there, then i got a backup of the backup from TimeMachine and it was there for a few seconds and deleted it again!
Why? Is it possibly because my current printer doesn’t support the page size (which is why i want a sample PDF to i can test a better printer)?
Most annoying (and worrying)!
How do i prevent this please?
TIA
jonny
It’s Because the deletion of the layout has been synced. So when you restore, Tap Forms applies all of the changes that were synced and therefore re-applies the layout deletion.
To resolve this problem you’ll need to:
- Disable iCloud Sync
- Press the Delete from iCloud buttonL
- Restore your document
- Re-enable iCloud Sync for only a second
- Disable iCloud Sync once more
- Delete from iCloud
- Re-enable iCloud Sync
The little flip-flop on disabling and re-enabling iCloud sync is to just clear out the iCloud sync metadata that’s embedded within the database document that you restored.
Let Tap Forms re-sync to iCloud, then send a copy of that document over to your other devices, first removing the old ones.
I know it’s a lot just to get the layout restored. Sorry about that.
