Hi folks, I use multiple folders in Tap Forms and over the years have built up a very useful layout that I would like to be able to use on a new folder without having to completely rebuild the fields. It seems like there should be a way to save and import a layout into a new folder, but I have not been able to find out how. I’ve saved and exported a layout as a tiff, but whenever I try to import it, it simply takes me back to the folder I saved it from.
I’m running TapForms 5 on a Mac w/ Sonoma 14.5
Thanks!
I believe you are saying you want to have a copy of a Form or file without records. I believe if you export to the Form as a Forms Archive which makes a file with the appendate “.tfarc).
Then move to another folder.
Import the “.tfarc” file as a new “Form”.
I’m not an expert, so I hope I’m not wrong.
Chris, you can use the Duplicate Form function. Then all the custom layouts will come along with it to the duplicated form. The Duplicate Form command is in the Form menu.
I have tried duplicating the form. It creates an empty clone that does not match the layout that I am trying to copy.
OK, I just tried it again and found a second layout option (untitled Form) on the top bar, which does bring up the layout. Apparently I needed to open a new file to get the layout display to appear.
