First off, I use TF for my image database. Some time ago I migrated from TF3 to 5. Everything went smoothly until the first backup – it took around 8 hours to complete. Consequently, I now use TF3 for Digital and TF5 for film since the backups for each are faster. Before using TF5, the complete backup was around 15 minutes. (I forgot to mention that each record has its own thumbnail – 600 x 400 pixels)
Any suggestion?

Hmm… All Tap Forms is doing is zipping up the .tapforms document file when it makes a backup. In fact, Tap Forms 3.5 and Tap Forms 5 are pretty much using the same code for zipping files. So I’m not sure why it’s taking so much longer on Tap Forms 5. Try compacting the database. That’ll tell Tap Forms to remove any unused attachments and it will also purge deleted records if you’ve done any deletions. That’ll make the document file smaller.
