text not sticking in field

Hi,

We are trying to enter text into a new text field.

Created the text field in edit form > fields. Then selected layout > and dragged field to our template. In addition to a text field, we also tried using a notes field.

We have deleted the field, replaced, reselected, etc. several times now. We’ve restarted Tap Forms as well.

Any text that we input in this field types in, but when the user leaves the page and comes back the text is gone and the field is empty.

Please let us know what we can do to make this work.

Did you turn layout editing off?
No problem here, field data hold, even after switch to other form.

Hi Leo, thanks for your response. Yes, I turned editing off. It didn’t happen when we created new fields a few weeks ago. So, not sure.

Hi TIEB,

If you’ve deleted the field that a layout object belongs to, then you’ll need to drag in a new layout item for that field.

Just hide the layout inspector panel and you should be able to enter data into the fields. It will save when the cursor exits the field.

We needed to upgrade to Yosemite for the text in the field to stick. Now this seems to be working. Thanks!
