I’m not using iDrive Cloud yet.
My devices/OS/TP version:
iPhone 4S OS 7.1.1 TP 3.8.3
iPad 2 OS 7.1.2 TP 3.8.3
MacBook OS 10.7.5 TP 2.2.3
Mac Mini OS 10.9.5 TP 2.2.3
I’ve followed the developer’s instructions from this forum to fix syncing issues, which I have listed below. That helped get all devices and sync dates to appear.
However, when I create some records, some take hours (a day) to sync while some a couple minutes. Any explanation for this
The steps I followed to get the syncing to “work”:
1. deleted/log out of iCloud accounts (deleting iOS data) on all devices
2. Log back into iCloud on all devices.
3. Reset Documents & Data in iCloud.
4. set the same encryption key on all devices
4. “Reset iCloud Sync”…all devices dissapeared from the TP sync window on each device
5. re-enable iCloud sync on all devices
7. Let all devices & TP remain on over night…eventually they all showed up on each device
8. Tapped “Sync” on one device
9. Eventually (hours later) each device showed the sync dates of the other devices (including its own).
I should have written that I haven’t yet switched “iCloud Drive”
The problem is I have no control over the speed of iCloud. When you press the upload to iCloud button, all Tap Forms is doing is writing a file into your Mobile Documents directory on your device. iCloud then takes this file and actually uploads it to Apple’s servers. Then it may even sit there for a while before a notification is sent to the other devices telling them that there’s a new file for them to download. Once that notification comes in and Tap Forms is running, it will then begin to download the file. Once the file is fully downloaded, that’s when you’ll see the Syncing… messages appear.
So that’s really all there is to it.
Thanks,
Brendan
Thanks Brendan.
Thanks for working on Dropbox!!!
