James NelsonParticipantHello, been using tap forms for about a year now. I use it in my warehouse as a way to inventory or shelves. I have been using a custom form and use QR codes on each shelf to determine what pallet is where, and its contents.
Just launching my software for the day, and my QR codes have reverted to only one code no matter what text I want associated with it.
For instance, I would use A BLOCK 1002 E1 in the text field and generate a unique QR for that pallet. Today, all 397 pallets in my warehouse have switched to the same QR. If I try to adjust an individual pallet, it changes every pallet in the database.
Hope this is clear??
Any ideas?
Thanks

BrendanKeymasterHI James,
Is this on the Mac version when generating a QR code or when you’re scanning a QR code on the iOS version?
Thanks,
Brendan

James NelsonParticipantHi Brendan,
This is affecting the mac version. I can still scan codes with no problem from my phone, but since all of the entries now have the same QR, I am unable to determine what pallet is what.
Thanks

BrendanKeymasterOk, I see the problem now. Due to a performance optimization I made, it seems that the QR codes aren’t updating themselves when you switch records.
I’m working on a fix right now. I’ll publish it as an update to my website for the Mac trial version. But it’ll have to wait until after Apple reviews my 3.5.5 update I already sent them. Each time I submit an update I either have to wait for them to review it or I have to reject it and then re-publish it and go back to the bottom of the queue. If I keep doing that, my updates will never get published through Apple because they take so long to review them.
Thanks,
Brendan

BrendanKeymasterHi James,
Please download the Mac trial version from my home page if you don’t have that version yet. I’ve just uploaded a version which fixes the barcode issue.
If you already started out with the Mac trial version, then use the “Check for Update” command in the Tap Forms menu to get the new version.
Thanks!

James NelsonParticipantThanks so much Brendan for addressing this so quickly!
Greatly appreciated!
I purchased through the app store, so I will download the trial version.
Once I have done that, do I just run it like normal and wait for an apple update?
Thanks again!

BrendanKeymasterHi James,
It’s up to you. You can continue to use the trial version indefinitely because you’ve already purchased from the Mac App Store. You’ll see a note about that when you launch it. Just note that the direct download (aka trial version) will always have updates released before the Mac App Store will. For example, this QR Code fix will not be in the Mac App Store version even when Apple reviews and approves it. It will have to wait for the next update. But the direct download version already has it.
Thanks,
Brendan
