Glen ForisterParticipantThe problem: I do a lot of copy and paste between applications and also within Tap Forms. When I have to restart TF, is when I select something to copy and the selection color indicating what is to be copied disappears. I can still copy and paste, but there is no indication what is selected for that action. In my case, the selected text is highlighted Blue on a white background. The funny thing is that it doesn’t happen in any other application.
This problem has increased in frequency a lot recently. I assume it is a problem in my system, but I hope somebody will verify that and let me know how to fix it.
At least once an hour I have to restart Tap Forms to rectify the problem. I’ve tried rebooting and other various curative actions, but restarting Tap Forms is the least disruptive and necessary action to fix this.

BrendanKeymasterHi Glen,
I’m not really sure where you’re copying from in Tap Forms. Is it from a Note field?
Can you send a screenshot or make a video showing the issue?
Thanks,
Brendan

Glen ForisterParticipantIt took a while for me to finish a project then wait for the situation to occur again.
Attached is an example of copy and paste. The highlighting that should be occurring during that process is missing.
I forgot to have the file properties area showing. Attached is a jpg of the file settings and a mov showing the behavior. It does have a sound track.I’ve discovered the quickest way to get back to normal is to do a “Backup”.
The 9mb limit was troublesome. The resolution of 1080 original was 22mb, 720 was 14mb the only other choice was a bad resolution 4.2mb which I attached.

BrendanKeymasterHi Glen,
Oh that’s very weird. If you double-click on the field, do you see the selection highlight?
What if you quit and re-launch Tap Forms? Does that fix it?

Glen ForisterParticipantAs stated in the starting question “At least once an hour I have to restart Tap Forms to rectify the problem. I’ve tried rebooting and other various curative actions, but restarting Tap Forms is the least disruptive and necessary action to fix this.”
I’ve since gone to doing the Backup action which restarts TF and brings me back to where I was working so I do that now.
When this behavior is active, if I double click on a word, it is not highlighted, but I can Command C that word and paste it.

BrendanKeymasterHmm… that’s odd. I haven’t seen this issue before. I wonder if there’s some conflict with some other software you have installed?
Or try upgrading to Sequoia.

Glen ForisterParticipantLooks like Sequoia update is having lots of issues right now, so I’ll wait to see if they get fixed first.

Glen ForisterParticipantToday I talked to my son who knows several people that have encountered the situation of the highlighting of text not working in various big programs like WORD and others. Therefore, that bug is an OSX system bug so you can check that off of your investigation list.
Cheers.
