    Hi,

I want to be able to make it so users cannot change a forms fields or the layout on a Mac. I just want them to be able to:

    1) Add a new Record

    2) Move from one record to another

    3) Modify existing records

    4)Populate a new record

    5 Delete existing records

One problem is that people accidentally add new layouts when they mean to add a new record.

    hi Ron,

You can enable access controls on your form to disable form editing on Mac.

Click the Form button in the toolbar, then scroll below and click the Enable Access Controls option. You’ll be asked to enter a password you want to use. You can then turn on Create Records, Update Records, and Delete Records, but keep Customize Form OFF.

Then if anyone wants to modify the form, they’ll have to provide a password first.

    Thanks,

    Brendan

Thanks for that. I had tried that but a user seems to still be able to click the Layout button and then alter the Layout. Is there a way to lock that too?

    Thanks,

    Hi again,

I have answered my own question after trying the “Lock” checkbox in each of the “Layout>Layers” section. That seems to do what I want. Is there a quick way to un/lock all of them at once?

    Regards,

    Ron

Whoops. You’re right. I prevent you from deleting a layout, but not from deleting or moving individual items on the layouts.

I’m working on a new version of Tap Forms and I’ve added a button to check and uncheck all the layers in one click.

Not quite finished it yet, but soon.

    Thanks,

    Brendan
