I think I’m seeing some strange behaviour on the iOS version in relation to the password/security (on both my iPhone & iPad (both running the latest iOS version).
My settings are as follows on my iPhone:
– Auto lock: 5 minutes
– Lock out after 10 attempts for 5 minutes
Sometimes when opening the app I get the PIN prompt as expected then I just get a screen with the 4 dots and nothing else after entering the correct PIN (see attached). I know the PIN is correct and if I enter an incorrect one I get a refusal as expected. However I get an warning saying “Too Many Attempts Locked out for 10 minutes” even though I haven’t tried too many times. Also I aren’t actually locked out anyway.
More generally what is the relationship between the app level security settings and the document level ones from a presidence perspective?
Hmm… ok, I’ll have to look into that.
The document level security actually encrypts the SQLite database file within the .tapforms document. The app-lock security just prevents you from tapping on a document without first providing the code. The more secure level is the document password.
