I’ve posted before about how wonderful is the new join field but I don’t think about this specific aspect.
Let me say everything I love about it at once so I don’t need to post about it again.
I import sales records into the Sales form. The associated invoice goes into the invoice form. The sales record must be linked to a product (A), company (B), invoice (C) and associated records (D) (other sales on the same invoice). The invoice is linked to a company (E).
Before the join field I manually performed links A-C and E. However, linking each record to its associated record was laborious and not worth the effort. Now, though, I just link them by the Invoice number field, which is also used to link them to the invoice form.
This allows me to see each sale in context without having to leave the sales form to look at the invoice form.
