Richard SaundersParticipantI may be doing things wrong, but I’ve tried everything to get the Nearby Sync to work and failed. I ensure both my Mac and my iPad are synced, I have loaded the documents on both machines (the ‘Send documents to another device’ works perfectly) and I have documents open on both machines. However, as soon as I edit a document on my Mac, I get the error code “OSStatus error -9808” come up.
Can anyone offer me ideas as to what’s going wrong? Have I forgotten something?
NB – I’m not an expert so, if I’m doing it wrong – simple English please.

Richard SaundersParticipantI’ve “discovered” what OSStatus code is (see attached), but I don’t know what it means

BrendanKeymasterHi Richard,
Ya, I found that one too. It’s happening to some people, but not everyone. I really don’t know the cause yet and I posted on the Couchbase Github issues list about this just the other day:
https://github.com/couchbase/couchbase-lite-ios/issues/1408
But all they said was that it might be due to an older version of iOS causing this. It could be the App Transport Security system interfering with the certificate that’s generated by Tap Forms to support SSL secured data transfer between devices.
Perhaps make a backup of your documents, then re-install Tap Forms. Maybe also delete anything in Keychain Access related to Tap Forms 5. The ones that are affecting this issue may be the ones that start with “tf-peer-sync”. So search for that in Keychain Access and delete them. When you startup Tap Forms and open a document again they’ll get re-created.

Richard SaundersParticipantHi Brendan,
I’m a little wary of deleting anything in the Keychain as I have no knowledge of what to do if it causes system problems so, for now, I’ll simply use the programs as I have been which means if I edit/add records on my Mac, I delete the file on my iPad and then re-copy.

Richard SaundersParticipantBy the way, as to older operating systems being the cause, I am a completely new Tap Forms user I only started on the day you brought out version 5. My 2 systems (Mac & iPad) always have the latest OS running)
