I want to perform a clean install on my Mac. Which file(s) do I have to back up to make sure all my custom made databases are still available after the clean install? Where are my databases and records stored on my Mac?

Just make a backup and do a restore after the clean install.

That’s the obvious answer. But not the answer I am looking for. I am wondering where all databases and records are stored.

There is a file called TapForms_db.sqlite which contains all of your data that’s internal to the database. It’s stored here:

    ~/Library/Containers/com.tapforms.mac/Data/Documents

There are also external files such as photos, audio recordings, layout media, file attachments, etc. Those are also stored in the above folder if you don’t have iCloud sync enabled. If you do have iCloud sync enabled, all files external to the database are stored in the following folder:

    ~/Library/Mobile Documents/Tap Forms

    or in some cases:

    ~/Library/Mobile Documents/Tap Forms HD

Hope that’s what you’re looking for.

    Thanks,

Hi Brendan – I don’t seem to have a folder in the Containers folder in the Library called com.tapforms.mac – I’m running Monterey 12.7.4?

    Hi Simon,

    In Tap Forms 5 it’s com.tapzapp.tapforms-mac
