I’m not sure if this is a bug or if I’m just doing something wrong. When I download files from Safari on my iPod and save them in Tap Forms, I know they go to the export folder and I’m able to transfer them to my computer with no problem. The problem is when I then delete the files from my iPod, the folder appears empty but when I transfer the folder to my computer again, the same files still show up. How can I delete these ghost files permanently? They’re taking up unnecessary space on my iPod. Thanks in advance!

Edit: It’s not letting me edit my question, but I meant the IMPORT folder…not the export. Sorry.

    Hi,

Hmm… So in the Imports folder in Tap Forms you’re tapping the Edit button, then tapping the delete button next to the file you want to delete? The file is being deleted from the list, but then when you use Safari to look at the Imports folder, the files are still there? Am I understanding this correctly?

I’m not sure what could be causing that. The app simply reads the files from the file system in the device. So if the file doesn’t show up in the list in Tap Forms, it shouldn’t be on disk there.

If you could send me some screenshots with maybe a step-by-step explanation of the problem I could try to reproduce it.

    Thanks,

    Brendan

I downloaded files using Safari and had them save to Tap Forms. When I go to the Apps tab in iTunes, I saved the files to my computer and then deleted them from my iPod by swiping to the right and hitting “Delete.” The list in the iPod is now showing empty (as it’s supposed to), but iTunes still shows that they’re in the folder. I even tried saving it to my computer again to see what it would do, and all the files I deleted from the iPod still transferred over in the second save attempt.

I found a fix though by making a backup, uninstalling then reinstalling, and then finally restoring from the backup. Is there an easier way to do this?

Btw, other than that minor problem, this is one of my fave apps! :D Also, thanks for your help. :)

    Hi,

I think maybe you’re seeing some files in the Tap Forms Documents folder in the iTunes File Sharing area. You should see a Share folder there. Inside the Share folder are the Imports and Exports folders. But you can’t get direct access to those in iTunes. You can drag the folders from iTunes to your hard drive to get access to their contents. But you can’t go back the other way with folders, but you can with files.

Anyway, if you have some additional files that you see in iTunes that shouldn’t be there, just press the Delete key on your computer’s keyboard and iTunes will ask you if you’d like to delete the selected file(s). DON’T delete the TapForms_db.sqlite file or you’ll delete your entire database.

I’m glad other than this issue you’re enjoying using Tap Forms!

    Thanks!

    Brendan
