Hi Brendan,
congrats to the new Tap Forms i think i like it at the first glance.
While securing a new document i stumbled in a situation that is really dangerous for unaware users.
I am very sure i´ve done nothing wrong.
I found out that every single document has its own preferences in Menu/preferences (btw. no good idea for this is the place for Application-wide preferences, not of the document. It would be much better and clearer to enhance the document-manager).
When encrypting a new database document with a password (set it once, confirm, push the encrypt button) i cannot de-encrypt it anymore. The preferences windows has a status bar “de-encrypt” and thats all. I have to force-quit TapForms to access the document again.
Even worse: i set it to lock the document at closing. Opening it again, put in the password i.E. “test” and i get a “wrong password” again and again (and again). So i have lost access to the document. Im thankfull for first testing this with dummy-data…
Im hopefully that you can provide a solution.
Regards,
Alex
