I have been experimenting with TAP forms for the past week and its seem to work very well. If I encrypt the whole database is there any point in then encrypting individual fields in the database? I ask this because while experimenting I originally only encrypted particular fields and then ended up encrypted the whole database. I then changed the encryption password and the fields that were individually encrypted were then unreadable. In my case it was no biggy as Im still setting up forms, but I wondered what caused it?
Hello Simon,
There’s pretty much no point in encrypting fields once you’ve encrypted the entire database. That’s just doubly encrypting the data. And since you have to enter your encryption key to access the database in the first place, Tap Forms won’t ask you to enter your encryption key when you view a form with an encrypted field.
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks!
