Steve ApodacaParticipantI can’t turn on iCloud sync on my iPad. When I try and turn it on, it immediately crashes. Any help?
iPad Air iOS 8.3
Tap Forms v 3.9.4April 20, 2015 at 11:30 PM #13439
BrendanKeymasterHi Steve,
This is fixed in the next update which is currently waiting review with Apple. It was caused by the iOS 8.3 update. It worked just fine with 8.2.
Thanks,
Brendan

Uwe-Jens KarlParticipantHi, will this update also fix crashes when trying generate a backup file or sort an item list? Issues appeared after I updated to iOS 8.3. Thanks, Uwe.
April 24, 2015 at 9:18 AM #13453
BrendanKeymasterYes, they were all caused by the same changes in iOS 8.3.

Douglas StormsParticipantBrendan,
I have iOS 8.3 and TapForms 4.0.
The iPad version (newly installed) still crashes when turning on sync. The iPhone version (upgraded from earlier versions) has sync turned on, but not able to sync with iCloud. I may switch to Dropbox if that tends to work better.

BrendanKeymasterHmm… Can you try rebooting and then try enabling sync again?
April 29, 2015 at 4:12 AM #13507
Douglas StormsParticipantAfter rebooting, the iPhone version didn’t crash when enabling iCloud sync, but doesn’t complete the sync. It initiates the upload, but doesn’t upload anything and stops the upload.
The iPad version still crashes when enabling iCloud sync.
April 29, 2015 at 5:09 AM #13508
Douglas StormsParticipantFor some reason the iPhone version is working fine now. The iPad version remains the same.
April 29, 2015 at 5:55 PM #13512
BrendanKeymasterIf you try switching to the “None” Sync Service, does that help on the iPad? Try it twice. Then switch to iCloud and then enable sync.
April 29, 2015 at 6:21 PM #13518
Douglas StormsParticipantIt crashes right after switching to iCloud and before I can enable sync. I tried Reset Sync, and rebooting the iPad. still same crashing. I don’t see how it could be a problem, but mine is an older iPad 2 which I’ve had for a while, so I don’t know if that could cause the issue.
April 30, 2015 at 7:43 PM #13520
BrendanKeymasterAre you able to turn on Dropbox sync or is it just iCloud that has the problem?
Do you have iCloud Drive enabled? I know one other customer had that problem but they didn’t even have the option for iCloud Drive on their system as it was a corporate iPad and his company disabled iCloud Drive.

GartenzwergParticipantI have the same issue with my iPhone 5s and the latest Tap Forms 4.0.
I have a second iPhone, a 6 Plus and it works fine…
If i switch on iCloud sync, the app crashes (only with the 5S).
No crash with dropbox.May 1, 2015 at 3:48 PM #13527
BrendanKeymasterSo the question is, what’s different about iCloud on your 5S from the 6 Plus? Do you have iCloud Drive enabled on your 5S?
May 1, 2015 at 4:02 PM #13528
Douglas StormsParticipantBrendan,
Thank you for suggesting that I check to see if iCloud Drive was enabled on my iPad. It wasn’t. I turned it on. Lo and behold, sync works now. Thank you for your help!
May 1, 2015 at 11:40 PM #13531
GartenzwergParticipantYes on both iPhones, iCloud sync is eneabled. I also made a new install and i had the same problem but, and thats strange, only on the iPhone 5s it crashes.
May 2, 2015 at 8:56 AM #13535
BrendanKeymasterIf you go back into Sync Settings, iCloud should be set as the Sync Service after the crash. Now just enable sync and see what happens. It should startup.
May 3, 2015 at 7:31 AM #13542
GartenzwergParticipantBrendan, i can’t check it in the next 2 Weeks. I am in vacations and i have only the 6s with me.
Have a good time. -
