BrendanKeymasterHi Andrew,
I just tested that now and it worked for me.
Which version of Excel are you using?
And what format Excel file?
I was just testing with XLSX.
Thanks,
Brendan

BrendanKeymasterOh, and I was using Excel 15.41 (part of the Office 365 suite).

Andrew MeadParticipantHi Brendan,
Im using Tap Forms 5.2.5 and Excel 15.41.
I just tried with a text edit document and it worked, so it must be something to do with my Excel

BrendanKeymasterHmm… Ok, so same version. Interesting.
I tried a bunch of changes and each one was properly updated in the database.
When you double-click on a file on the multi-file File Attachment field, Tap Forms copies the file to the temporary folder, then it opens it up in Excel. At the same time it starts a file monitoring function which looks for changes made to the file. When you save it, Tap Forms is notified of the saved file and then Tap Forms reads the file back into the database, just as if you had attached it again, except of course, it just updates the file in the database.

Andrew MeadParticipantHi,
Yes quite frustrating, because I Know it used to work, but it just won’t let me at the moment. I have tried saving just in excel without any tap forms intervention and it’s fine, and I did a text edit doc using tap forms and it was fine also.
Ive tried re creating the file attachment field, but that didn’t help either.
If you have any ideas let me knowThanks

BrendanKeymasterWhich macOS version are you using? Maybe that’s the difference. I’m using High Sierra.
January 18, 2018 at 2:41 PM #27057
Andrew MeadParticipantHi
I’m using sierra (not the high sierra)
Is high sierra a requirement for tap forms at all ?Andrew
January 18, 2018 at 8:03 PM #27059
BrendanKeymasterNo, High Sierra isn’t a requirement, but there were things Apple changed with this sort of thing which can make it work or not. Things that used to work in El Capitan broke in Sierra and were fixed in High Sierra.
So that’s why I like to keep up-to-date with OS versions.

Andrew MeadParticipantHi Brendan,
Looks like your right. I partitioned my drive and installed high Sierra on it to test it out and it worked using latest tap forms and latest excel.
So looks like I will have to upgrade to HS.Thought I would let you know in case any other users have the same issue
Cheers

BrendanKeymasterHi Andrew,
Thanks for the update.
Ya, stuff like that keeps changing from macOS version to macOS version.
Sorry for the trouble.
Brendan
