Is there any time frame on updating Tap Forms to run on Apple’s new processor?
It will work right now using Rosetta 2. In fact, I’ve been told it runs pretty fast on it. I don’t have one yet because I’m waiting for a 16″ MBP.
It appears to run flawlessly, albeit not as power efficient as it could be.
I look forward to the update.
Any update about an Apple Silicon version?
(Already using it under Rosetta 2, but it’s been three years now)
I’m still working on it. I’ve been working on a brand new version of Tap Forms that’s Apple Silicon native. Just not ready yet. Almost though. I know it’s been too long.
Oh! great!! This will be a game changer, I’m sure. I didn’t mean to induce stress in the process.
Thanks
This is exciting. There are so few good database apps out there, so this could be tops.
I just upgraded from an Intel Mac to the Mac Mini M4 and cannot get TapForms 5 to open.
From what I have read, the OS should ask me if I want to Install Rosetta 2, but that doesn’t happen either. Has Apple dropped support for these apps in the latest OS and/or Apple Silicon?
Anyone else run into this?
After chatting with Apple support, it appears that Tap Forms was just not triggering the OS to install Rosetta 2. They had me download and try “Colorsnapper”. That seemed to trigger the Rosetta installation. After which, both apps seem to be working.
There’s a command you can run to install Rosetta too. I’m surprised they didn’t just have you do that.
Copy and paste this command into the Terminal application window.
/usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta
