Aaron RollsParticipantIs there any time frame on updating Tap Forms to run on Apple’s new processor?
July 7, 2021 at 12:54 AM #44728
BrendanKeymasterIt will work right now using Rosetta 2. In fact, I’ve been told it runs pretty fast on it. I don’t have one yet because I’m waiting for a 16″ MBP.

Aaron RollsParticipantIt appears to run flawlessly, albeit not as power efficient as it could be.
I look forward to the update.

letnicParticipantAny update about an Apple Silicon version?
(Already using it under Rosetta 2, but it’s been three years now)

BrendanKeymasterI’m still working on it. I’ve been working on a brand new version of Tap Forms that’s Apple Silicon native. Just not ready yet. Almost though. I know it’s been too long.

letnicParticipantOh! great!! This will be a game changer, I’m sure. I didn’t mean to induce stress in the process.
Thanks

dan carterParticipantThis is exciting. There are so few good database apps out there, so this could be tops.

Scott SpeckerParticipantI just upgraded from an Intel Mac to the Mac Mini M4 and cannot get TapForms 5 to open.
From what I have read, the OS should ask me if I want to Install Rosetta 2, but that doesn’t happen either. Has Apple dropped support for these apps in the latest OS and/or Apple Silicon?
Anyone else run into this?
November 14, 2024 at 5:13 PM #51303
Scott SpeckerParticipantAfter chatting with Apple support, it appears that Tap Forms was just not triggering the OS to install Rosetta 2. They had me download and try “Colorsnapper”. That seemed to trigger the Rosetta installation. After which, both apps seem to be working.

BrendanKeymasterThere’s a command you can run to install Rosetta too. I’m surprised they didn’t just have you do that.
Copy and paste this command into the Terminal application window.
/usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta

Pressley RankinParticipantTapforms is no longer opening. I use it for work files so this is important. I am on a Macbook Pro and I have the New Mac Mini. The app comes up with a white screen then never loads. I tried the Rosetta command and it says Rosetta 2 cannot be installed in this system. What can I do. I am on OS Sequoia 15.2

Pressley RankinParticipantUpdate, I have an intel MBP and a Apple Silcon Mini. I am going to try to install Rosetta on the Mini but I am not sure why the intel mac stopped working as well.
November 20, 2024 at 12:02 PM #51315
Pressley RankinParticipantAnother Update- It is running on my Mac Mini – I didn’t need to do anything. But that is running Mac OS 15.1 so my Macbook Pro is on the Beta Mac OS 15.2 so that might be the issue. Any ideas?
November 20, 2024 at 11:22 PM #51316
BrendanKeymasterIf you’re referring to the blank screen on macOS 15.2, then that is an Apple bug.
Update to the latest beta 4 that came out today and the main Database Documents window will work again. Wasn’t my bug. It was Apple’s.

Pressley RankinParticipantHi Brendan,
I didn’t think it was your error. It was apple’s and it is fixed. Thank you for responding. I love your work.
