I’ve created my first application in Tap Forms. It only took me a few hours over about 3-4 days. Very impressed with Tap Forms.

It records matches of Petanque over a season. Don’t worry about the details of Petanque. A match consists of a number of Games (singles, doubles and triples)

    I have the following Forms:
Players with fields: these are all the potential players in the club
    First name text
    Surname text
    etc

Matches with fields: all the matches played in a season
    Match name text
    Opponents text
    Date played date
    etc

Games with fields: there would be a number of Games in a Match
    Macht name text
Game type text picked from Single, doubles, triples
Players Link for Form – Players (many to many)
    etc

Each Form has other fields not relevant to this question.

This works well but I want to refine it.

When I add records (players) to the Players field in Games, using the tick icon at the bottom of the Form, I can select from the full list of potential players. I now want to restrict this selection to be solely from the Team (of Players) that has been selected for this Match

I have now added another Form: Teams. This would be a selection of (say) 4 Players
    Teams has fields:
    Match name text
Players Link to Form – Players

The problem: I now wish to change the Games field Players so that when adding a Player it only selects from the Team. i.e from a subset of Players that have been selected for the Team for that Match. If I change the field Players in Teams to link to Form Teams I can only select the Match name. I really want to select form the players in the Team.

Is there a way of doing this?

    Hi Keith

There’s no function other than the general search on the popup to filter the list of child records to select from.

    Thanks,

    Brendan
