FabriceParticipantHello Tap Formers,
After having successfully built my first database (my video games collection), I’m now trying to tackle another of my hobbies : 3D Printing.
Where I’m getting stuck for the moment is at the calculation for a given print. Right now, I’m using an excel sheet that keeps track of the time a print took, and make various calculations. So to bring this in Tap Forms, I was trying to find a way to indicate a time. But a time, if I found correctly, only count up to 24 hours in a day. Going to Date and Time also makes little sense, since it’s a duration and not a set date and time.
Then I remembered a formula I have used in the past in Excel, and brought this in Tap Forms. I do have the start and end date and time for each of my prints. So by using those two values, I wrote endtime – starttime . This gives me a result in seconds. If I divide this by 60, it rounds the print times to the minutes +/- 30 seconds.
The issue that I have though is that for some prints, that is easy to read. But for most of my prints, I go above the 24 hours printing time. I could have results like 28 hours 34 minutes. On some other cases, a print can be done in 18 minutes. In Excel, I use a cell formatting to print the time on screen with a [hh]:mm:ss mask.
Is there anyway for me to be able to read the result of that calculation in such a format in Tap Forms ?
Many thanks for your help,
Fabrice
Edit : I leave my original post, but in a typical fashion, I just found the solution. For those seeking, in the field tab of the calculation, there is an option to give the result a special format. Amongst them, is an HH:MM:SS, which indicates the duration above the 24 hours count. So this works perfect. Thanks again for this amazing software.

BrendanKeymasterHi Fabrice,
I’m glad you found the solution to your problem with the Number Format setting. FYI, when you enter in a value with one of those time based Number Formatters, the results are stored in the database as seconds. But are converted for display to the format selected.
Thanks,
Brendan
