Hi
I have a database for 2024 with several thousand records. To start 2025 I wanted to copy it and delete the old data. So in finder I copied the 2024 to a name OF 2025. I then opened the 2025 one and deleted the 2024 data from it.
However now all the 2024 data is gone in the 2024 copy and the couple of entries for 2025 show up in the 2024 version.
If I restore from a backup of the 2024, open it, the 2024 data is there for a moment or two but suddenly disappears to show the 2025 entries.
What have I done wrong, and how can I restore the 2024 into a separate database?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Ron
Just to make sure that I have responded to your post, and for everyone else reading this, as we’ve already conversed about this over email, the proper way to duplicate a document is to use the Duplicate Document command in the File menu. This will assign a new Document ID to the copy and this will not cause any interference with syncing.
