File size bigger than data

    Hi

    I was looking to create some space on my iPhone by deleting large files and was surprised to see tapforms was 1.01 gb

    the back up file is 215 gb so I’m guess the data is about the same size which suggests there is an extra 500 gb of data somewhere that I can’t see to delete

    iPhone 11 iOS 17.5.1

    tapforms 5.3.36 (1105)

    any help would be appreciated

    Hi Vaughan,

    Try the Compact Database function on the Database Maintenance screen. That should reduce the size.

    When you add, delete, and update information in Tap Forms, a history of previous data is stored, so that can build up over time. Compacting the database will clean that up.

    Hi Brendan

    thanks for the suggestion but that did not reduce the file size

    After you compact the database, close and re-open the document. It should show the reduced file size.
