tonytParticipantHi Brendan
The worst has happened! Please could you let me have an exact, line by line series of steps as to what to do. I dread making a mistake and losing everything!!! I need to be able to
a – restore my good copy to my mac
b – how to get that copy to all my other devices and syncing properly.
I am using latest Tapforms on iMac, MBook, ipad and iphone and stncing via iCloud.
I have searched but some of the explanations seem to leave out bits or not be explained enough for my poor brain.
Thanks in anticipation of prompt help.

BrendanKeymasterHi Tony,
For such emergency situations, it’s probably best to contact me directly at support@tapforms.com. I don’t check the forum as often as my emails.
- Open your document (even the bad one) and go to Sync Settings.
- Disable sync.
- If using iCloud sync. Click the Delete from iCloud button.
- Remove the bad copy of your document from all devices.
- Select Restore Backup from the File menu in Tap Forms on your Mac.
- Find your backup file and select it.
- Click the Restore button
- Open the newly restored document.
- Go to the Sync Settings screen.
- Enable sync.
- Immediately disable sync right after (this will clear the sync metadata from the database).
- Click the Delete from iCloud button again (if using iCloud).
- Now re-enable Sync again.
- Wait for it to sync fully.
- Close the document.
- Re-open it. Let it finish its second sync cycle.
- Close the document again.
- Use the Send Document function to send a copy of the document to all your other devices.
- If using iOS 17, the sent document will land inside the Files app. It should show you a Share button.
- Tap the Share button.
- Choose Tap Forms from the list of available apps.
- Your document will now appear in Tap Forms on the main Documents screen.
- Tap on it to open it up.
- Go to Sync Settings
- Enable sync there.
- Wait for it to sync.
- Go on to the next device and send it again from the Mac to the next device.
- Repeat steps 23 onward for each device.
Hope that helps,
Brendan

tonytParticipantExcellent and many thanks Brendan. I think that set of instructions should be a sticky! I am sure even I can follow those!
