Is there a way to lock so the fields cannot be edited. I am in the process of logging a bar all the liquor it has and am now thinking if I can have an Ipad hanging for guests to browse. But then it should not be possible to edit the fields, but only see the database

Yes, on iOS you can do that.
Visit any record and then tap on the action menu button. Then tap on Disable Editing.
Now when you tap on a field on the record, you’ll be presented with an alert that says Editing Disabled.

and it locks the fields and give a notification as you said. But you can still delete the bottles. Is there a way to prevent this also
There’s no function to prevent deleting a record on the iOS version. There is on the Mac version though.
