Date sorting problem

I have a Form with the first col a Date. The rest of the fields are numbers. I am viewing this in table format.

When on my iPhone I have the form sorted by Date, and because of that some extra lines appear defining the Month that follows.

When I scroll up to see the data towards the bottom, the MONTH line hits the top and replaces the row at the top which is the identification of each row of numbers (which should always be there). At this point, I can’t tell the identity of each col of numbers.

Is the an option I can’t find in the program or in the information that takes away the MONTH rows that are automatically inserted?

Or it this a BUG in the program that wipes out the identification headers of the table.
    Hope it isn’t a bug.

    Hi Glen,

It sounds like you’re referring to the section header. It just floats at the top of the list of records. If you scroll down then the records will be visible again as they come into view.

Nope. Not on my iPhone 6s running 15.7.2

I have many records each month. Between each month is a divider stating the name of the month (January, February, etc.). As I scroll down (records are sorted down in ascending order) and the first month divider (which I did not ask for nor is part of my data) hits the top and the headers for the columns disappear.

But you seem to think this is standard as I read your response again. That isn’t right.
I can go down, come up a ways, go down, anywhere in the list of records and I will never see the definitions of each column, the column headers. I never see them again until I get back to the first month divider and then the headers appear again. Throughout the whole time I can’t see what the identity of each column until I am at the top of the database and the 1st month divider scrolls down below and allows the headers to appear.
Does that describe it? See attached file.

While you are seeing this file, maybe you can tell me why the 2 scripts I’ve been given to allow me to see just 1 season of rain with the total rainfall in that 1 season view 22-23 starts at the beginning of the season with the total of 80.95 instead of 0.331 which is the total. for the 1st rain of the season.

Are you referring to the Multi-Column view? If so, there is only room for one header and when you have the sections enabled, they will replace the top row of the column names as you scroll up. To disable that behaviour, tap the action menu button, then tap on View Settings. Then tap on the Show Sections switch to turn it off. Then tap the Save button. Now the column header will stay at the top and your records won’t be automatically grouped into sections by your Date field.

Perfect. I guess I’ll find that in the manual. I’ll look for it but the word “Sections” didn’t mean anything to me then. It does now.
