I’m wanting to switch a field from a typed yes/no answer that migrated a while ago from a different database. I’ve made a new checkmark field to categorize the records, and I’m wanting to know if there is a way to bulk apply an action – in this case I’ve got a search that catches all records that have a ‘yes’ typed in the text field “x”. Can I select all and do something that checks all the boxes in a newly created check mark field “y”?
Once you have your group of records using search, go to the multi-column view, set the first value and then click on the yellow dot and move it down. This will copy the value to the other fields.
Another option would be a form script.
I didn’t know that multi-column trick – it worked like a champ. Thanks Daniel!
Happy that it worked for you!
Also sometimes dragging downwards can be tricky, so selecting the first cell, then shift-click the very last record in that cell, then select Edit > Fill Down. Tap Forms will copy the value from the top selected cell into all of the cells below it until the last selected cell.
Nice trick!
I tried to copy a value from one row and paste it into subsequent rows without success.
I might ask therefore that copy + paste be made aware of selecting multiple rows in the multi-column view.
Fill down or dragging doesn’t work when field is set as “selection list” even if you paste exactly a value from the list. TF is busy like it is doing the updates and the changes also show up… but they disappear on next refresh.

Okay I don’t know what’s going on – it doesn’t seem to relate just to fields with “selection list”.
Meanwhile I had several new columns to update with default values. Actually 90% of the time it is not working (anymore). I also had 2-3 cases when even a manual update within the form itself has not been saved.
