Hey there,
I have just uploaded Tap Forms 1.8.2 to Apple this evening for approval.
Here's what's new:
• Bug Fixes.
• Integrated WebDAV Server to connect to Tap Forms with your desktop for file transfers.
• Connect to Tap Forms with your web browser for file transfers.
• Facebook Connect integration to share your photos and to tell your friends about Tap Forms.
• Record ID can now be optionally added to export files.
Hopefully it won't take as long this time as it did the last. Crossing my fingers :-)
Thanks!
Brendan
Hi Brendan,
I’ve downloaded and tested your “lite” app. this weekend. Unfortunately i couldn’t find a field which would give me the chance to add time blocks in hh:mm:SS :-(
I really miss the seconds, as I would like to log my exact exercises durations.
Do you see any chance to implement this in one of the next updates?
Cheers & best regards from Germany.
P.S.: I forgot: Congratulations to an almost perfect tool.
hellooooo….
anybody home there?
Hello Utzelbutzel,
Sorry for the terribly late response. It’s been crazy busy around here. I just looked into the standard time field on the date picker and it doesn’t look like it allows me to have seconds. Only hours and minutes and am/pm.
From the iPhone SDK documentation:
“UIDatePickerModeTime
The date picker displays hours, minutes, and (optionally) an AM/PM designation. The exact items shown and their order depend upon the locale set. An example of this mode is [ 6 | 53 | PM ].”
So I don’t think it will be possible to do that.
Thanks,
Brendan
Hi Brendan,
even if it doesn’t look that good with a solution: Thanks for your reply.
I am definitely not an expert, but thought that there may be an other field which would give such an option for seconds… I mean, the original clock/timer function works too, doesn’t it.
Or what about the idea of splitting the one time field into three number fields (or even more: days, up to 24 hours, up to 60 minutes, up to 60 seconds and why not having up to 99 hundredth of a second)
Don’t give up, come on… ;-)
Best regards from Germany,
Utzelbutzel
Hi Utzelbutzel,
I’ll look into this for a future update. At the moment I’m concentrating on Tap Forms Mac. But who knows, I might be able slip something like this into a near future update.
Thanks,
Brendan
that sounds “super cool”.
thanks a lot. cheers, utzelbutzel
Ugh. So my update got rejected twice now. All because of icons they don’t like. I wish they’d be more specific than taking a full screenshot of 30 icons and telling me that I’m using trademarked images. If they could point out exactly which ones were troublesome then I’d change them.
Brendan
So that was the reason for the delay, eh?
I wonder what icons you’ve changed in 1.8.2 and got rejected. Because if you haven’t change anything, why it had been approved before? :)
Hello Athan,
I didn’t change anything from 1.8 to 1.8.2 for my icons. That’s the odd part. Apple will decide to reject an app because they may have a new list of things to check for that they didn’t have before. I replaced some more icons and resubmitted. I hope they approve it soon. But I’m thinking they’ll find something else to dislike. Who knoww.
Thanks,
Brendan
All these stupid policies and Apple’s close minds is what I dislike more on iPhone.
Anyway I hope you have better luck this time.
Would be nice to make passcode anything instead of just a four digit number. Don’t like leaving it to a four digit number to protect all that valuable data.
Hi Bill,
You could always just encrypt a field in your form and then you’ll be able to specify up to 32 characters for an encryption key.
Thanks,
Brendan
Brendan
I just discovered Tap Forms a couple of weeks ago, and have to say I absolutely love the software.
Like all the best software, there are a million things I wish it could do, but frankly it’s miles ahead of the competition and one gets the feeling that things aren’t implemented *yet*, rather than the developer hadn’t thought about it already :)
I may just add some feature requests to your forum.
I’m glad to hear you are developing an app for desktop (even though I don’t use Mac, it’s good you will get it ported to Win!) but don’t spend too long on it: the fact it can interface with spreadsheets means we can get data in and out and everything else can wait!
Anyway, bravo, and greetings from London.
Hi Mat,
Thanks for the compliments!
One additional feature I forgot to mention above is the addition of a File Attachment field type. I had been planning on adding that to 1.8.3, but when Apple rejected my 1.8.2, I had already finished that feature, so I released it into version 1.8.2. I sure hope they approve it this week.
Thanks,
Brendan
