kilohurtzParticipantHi
Firstly I purchased TapForms yesterday and have to say what a fantastic application, just what I was looking for.
However I do seem to have found a slight bug, hopefully its an oversight on my part.
If I create a record with a photo taken from within TapForm using the photo field, I have found that if delete the record, go into a completey different database and Export Records to the files folders, and connect to the web server I can see the images stored in a folder which were once upon a time attached to a now deleted record?
If there a way to remove these?
Thanks

kilohurtzParticipantThe images are also contained in the backup file if I backup the database and look at the contents of the zip file.

BrendanKeymasterHello Kilohurtz,
Ok, I’ve found the problem. A long time ago I used to store the images as PNG files. I’ve since switched to JPG images. The delete code is attempting to delete a PNG image, which obviously isn’t there. I have changed it to delete the JPG image now, so after my next update, this will fix the problem for you.
Thanks for informing me of this bug.

kilohurtzParticipantHey Brendan,
Excellent you have found it
I have found something else.
If you create a new database and create 1 record, if you try to delete that record it doesnt delete, it stays in the database as an entry, if you add a second record to the same database and then select delete all records, then all records delete.
When do you antisipate an update being available?
Thanks for the prompt response

BrendanKeymasterHello Kilo,
This is the same issue as before, which has been fixed for the next update which I expect to release to Apple in 1 week.
Thanks!

AnonymousInactiveNot sure if this is the same issue – but I keep getting phantom .jpg paths in my .csv files where no photo/audio file has been loaded. For example, I have a form that has space for 6 photos and I only take 3, the other 3 fields get populated with seemingly phantom paths. I’m not sure where these files are coming from or how to get rid of them. Makes data processing a bit confusing.
Thanks!

BrendanKeymasterHi cms9210,
I have fixed this in the next update. The photo path will only be there if there is in fact a photo file available.
Thanks,
Brendan

AnonymousInactiveHi,
I’ve downloaded the newest update and I’m still having trouble deleting photos and audio files. I have a form with 850+ records all with photos. In an attempt to clean up my memory, I’d like to delete all the records and their associated photo. I’ve selected ‘Delete All Records’ and I still see media files when I export. Thoughts on what I may be doing wrong? Or other ways to delete photos? So far, the only way that I’ve found is to restore my earliest backup – before I created these records – but this of course deletes all other changes as well.
Thanks,
Carol
