Tom BradleyParticipantRunning the latest software (5.2.1) across 3 devices (iPad Pro, iPad mini & iPhone 6S), and although all records in my database seem to be present, forms are not syncing across and data field are missing in some forms. The problem seems to occur mainly on the iPad Pro. No amount of editing or changes can pursuade the missing data fields to show up. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

BrendanKeymasterHi Tom,
Which sync service are you using?
Can you try disabling sync and then re-enabling sync?
Make a backup first on the device that has all the data.

Tom BradleyParticipantiCloud sync. Do you mean create a master backup and disabling/re-enabling sync on all devices or just on the iPad Pro? It’s time comsuming to find out what data is actually missing but I have found a form on the iPad Pro that is missing 8 out of its 31 data fields. Mainly (but not exclusively) text fields.

BrendanKeymasterMake a backup on the device that has all the data. Just to make sure you have the most data backed up.
Then disable iCloud sync on the iPad Pro. Then re-enable it. That’ll hopefully download any data it missed getting from iCloud.

Tom BradleyParticipantThanks for the reply Brendan. It’s exactly what I tried while waiting to hear from you but unfortunately didn’t work. I can’t even tell you when the problem started either. FYI all devices are running iOS 11.0.3

BrendanKeymasterWell an alternative is to remove the documents from the other devices and re-send the document back from your device that has the most records. Then all devices will be in sync and hopefully this won’t happen again.

Tom BradleyParticipantHi Brendan. I’ve had a chance to take a closer look at all my data and as it turns out I don’t have a ‘master’ device unfortunately – all three are missing some data fields to a greater or lesser degree so I’m a bit stumped as to what to do now. Any other thoughts? Thanks.

BrendanKeymasterHi Tom,
Find out which fields are available on a device and make a small change to it. That’ll sync it across to the other device and make it appear there. Then go on to the next one until all fields appear on all devices. That should do it.

daffyParticipantI have this problem too. I posted on the other thread about it. I have tried everything suggested other than completely removing the data from two of the devices, but even if this works it’s not a permanent solution.
Any more ideas Brendan?
PS – apart from this issue I’m still loving Tap Forms. It’s ideal for what I am trying to do.October 25, 2017 at 2:52 PM #25586
BrendanKeymasterI replied in your other thread of something to try.

Tom BradleyParticipantHi Brendan. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to resolve this – no amount of editing will encourage a complete sync across all devices (and I’ve confirmed all 3 devices are missing data to some degree, except the total number of records in each form – that is all correct). This essentially renders the app unusable for me at the moment. Is there an update in the pipeline? Thanks.

BrendanKeymasterThere are always updates in the pipeline. I’m just working on one issue in a new feature right now, then I should be ready to publish the next update.

Phil BrownParticipantHas there been a fix yet to forms not fully syncing across devices? I still have fields that have disappeared from a device. Even if I make a slight change in the device with the field, when it syncs to the device with the missing field it still does not appear.

BrendanKeymasterHi Phil,
Try using the Export Form Template function to send a copy of the .tff file from the device that has the fields to the device that doesn’t.
Do the fields come back after that?
August 12, 2018 at 5:22 PM #30234
Phil BrownParticipantBeaming over the specific form brought back the missing fields. There are other forms with missing fields so I’m beaming them over as I come across them. Time consuming but it’s worth it. Other than this problem, your app is great!
Thanks!
