Well, it's been way too long since I released an update to Tap Forms. Not for lack of working on it. In fact, I've been working on it pretty much every evening and weekend since the last update. I had actually planned on releasing it for approval to the App Store today, however, a rule has changed and now I must do some testing with the 3.0 version of the iPhone OS software. I had originally planned to start working on the 3.0 stuff after I released this version, but now I will be first doing some compatibility testing. Once that's done I will release to Apple. Hopefully not much longer. Who knows, if testing goes well, maybe even still today or tomorrow. The night is still young here in Calgary! Well, for me at least.
But here are a couple teaser images to wet your appetite for the next update:
Hi Brendan, this looks nice. Is there going to be on this update also encryption options for individual databases inside TF ?
Encryption is at the field level. If you have at least one field encrypted, you’ll be asked to enter your encryption key password when trying to view a form. I don’t really recommend encrypting a form with thousands of records, but certainly for small forms such as a list of account numbers and/or credit card numbers or any personal information you don’t want anyone to get access to. The reason for this is that it takes a while to read all the records and encrypt the field values.
Thanks,
Brendan
Great news, I can wait no more!!!
I’m using Tap Forms to track the art I’m doing (Who showed interest, who actually made a solid request, how far it’s gotten, contact e-mail, when I took the commission, whether it’s completed…)and so far, I’m really happy with the actual records. Less so with the way all the records are displayed by just “name”. Especially since some people have multiple images ordered, it’s pretty hard to sort… but now I see your next update will more or less solve all my problems!
Nice teaser! When will we have Fingerprint encryption? :-) Just kidding.. but…
I was hoping for retinal scans myself!
