Frances ChermanParticipantIt’s remotely possible I may have accidentally clicked the “close” button for the TapForms window instead of the QuickLook window, but TapForms should have created a backup before closing and did not. Here’s my log, from the time I launched the program last night until now (edited for brevity):

BrendanKeymasterThe backup won’t happen if you close the document before quitting Tap Forms. With a document open and at least one change has been made since you opened Tap Forms, when you quit Tap Forms, that’s when it will make a backup if you have the Backup on Quit function enabled.

Frances ChermanParticipantThat’s good to know; however, I definitely did not quit the application. I may have accidentally closed the document, but the app quit on its own. Do you see anything in the log that would account for its quitting?
September 18, 2016 at 9:57 AM #19611
BrendanKeymasterI’m not sure.
This looks interesting:
9/17/16 19:25:50.836 QuickLookSatellite[1805]: In -[NSApplication(NSQuietSafeQuit) _updateCanQuitQuietlyAndSafely], _LSSetApplicationInformationItem(NSCanQuitQuietlyAndSafely) returned error -50
But even though there’s a QuickLook button on an image in Tap Forms, it doesn’t actually use QuickLook to display the image. I simply open a window that has an NSImageView object on it and I pass the selected image to the window which then displays it.

Frances ChermanParticipantYes, I thought that was an interesting line as well. While we’re on the subject, I sure wish the ESCAPE key would finish closing the preview window.

BrendanKeymasterCommand-w will also close the preview window. Escape would be convenient too.
