Tap Forms Sale Extended

My Black Friday weekend sale has been a pretty good success. I have managed to make it to #6 in Japan in the top 100 for the entire store. I also made it to the #1 position in Business in Japan for my paid and free Lite versions. When a free version of your app makes it to the #1 position in any category, Apple uses the icon of that app as the icon for the category. Here's what it looked like on the Japanese store a couple days ago:

Note: I didn't have my iPhone's language set to Japanese, so that's why it's in English.

So I've decided to bump the price up a tiny bit to $1.99 USD and to extend the sale for a little while longer. It's still a bargain at 78% off the regular price of $8.99 USD. So if you're on the fence, now might be a great time for you and your friends to pick up a copy before the sale ends.

So that's what's happening with my sale in case you wondered.

I also wanted to tell you what's on the radar for the next update to Tap Forms. I have been working on the following enhancements:

• Text Expander touch integration (overview)
• File Attachment emailing
• More secret stuff...

Thanks for visiting!

    Hi Brent,

what is “Text Expander touch integration”?

      Hi Oli,

Ooops. I should have linked to their site for more information. I’ve updated my post with an overview link for Text Expander. Text Expander is a cool technology where if you type in an abbreviation, it will expand the abbreviation to an entire sentence if you like.

For example, if you had an abbreviation for “sig1”, as soon as you typed the last character of the abbreviation, Text Expander would see that and expand that out to you full signature. The folks at Smile On My Mac have released a free developers kit that makes it easy to integrate any application with their technology. There is a growing list of iPhone apps that are starting to include the technology, such as Tweetie2 and WriteRoom. See this link for a bigger list: iPhone Developers Integrate TextExpander touch.

      Thanks!

      Brendan
